Job Description

The Bussemaker Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University is seeking to fill a full-time Associate Research Scientist position. The lab is focused on using computational methods to expand our knowledge of transcription factor biophysics, gene regulation, and genetic factors underlying human disease. The candidate will conduct research focused on biophysical modeling of transcription factor binding specificity and analysis of high-throughput SELEX-seq data to infer such models.

Minimum Degree Required: Ph.D.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates for the position must possess experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data from functional genomics experiments. A deep understanding of statistics and/or machine learning, as well as fluency in Java, C++, UNIX scripting, and working with high-performance computing clusters, is required. Three years of relevant professional experience are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will also have experience collaborating closely with experimental collaborators
