The Project Manager is responsible for general project management for Johns Hopkins Security. The Project Manager reports directly to the Vice President for Security and is a highly responsible, professional position that coordinates, oversees, and develops high-priority projects from concept to implementation. The incumbent organizes work, sets priorities, makes assignments, enforces deadlines, and makes decisions based on analytical and innovative thinking within established guidelines. Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and be detail-oriented.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the completion of key deliverables on assigned projects.
- Provides project management, administrative support, and strategies to the Vice President for Security.
- Track the daily operations and developmental progress of assigned projects.
- Organize, prioritize, and assign tasks to other members of the organization and contractual support personnel.
- Enforce work deadlines as they apply to assigned project requirements and other project goals.
- Maintain all files and data entry for assigned projects.
- Act as a liaison between the organization, key stakeholders, and outside agencies.
- Lead and facilitate communication with key stakeholders on collaborative projects and coordinate facilities, meetings, and events.
Minimum Qualifications (mandatory):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Three years of related experience.
- Additional education (Master’s level) may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven, successful project management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar.
- Must possess strong organization skills, be able to collect large amounts of data, which are sometimes time-sensitive and decentralized in origin.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple challenging projects.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have proven aptitude with the use of Microsoft Office applications, along with specialized computer applications.
- Must be able to effectively interact with colleagues at all operational levels.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a highly matrixed and complex business environment.
- May be needed to work flexible hours at times, based on business needs.

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Some travel required may be encouraged to telecommute.

During the Influenza (“the flu”) season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
