The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) will eventually be held on Sept. 13, after an unpredictable pause of more than two months and just two weeks are left for the examination for students wishing to take the highest level of medical schools in the country.

As in all other competitive exams, in the last few days, the students should remain concentrated on the analysis and practice portion, as many students now would have experienced the program many times.

Here are a few tips for students preparing the test, according to an Indian Express article, from Devadas Krishnan, who is involved in a Bengaluru-based ed-tech network.

1. Must Revisit the same book they referred: No New Books Now

Students must not quest at this juncture for new books and materials, and review those they have already read.

NCERT books’ frequent readings not only help students better understand the subjects but also allow them to get to the questions more accurately.

Any applicant should preferably concentrate on all three subjects – physics, biology and chemistry – rather than choosing the most interesting topic as below-average performance in any of them would ruin their chances of acceptance. Students should concentrate on topics which carry more weighting

2. Strategy for Biology

The NEET exam has a significant greater emphasis on biology compared to physics and chemistry as the pathway for students who want to be doctors.

Better marks in biology would also help students achieve a better rank in India, as their marks are favoured in a tiebreaker.

Some of the main topics of this examination are biological classification, plant kingdom, the animal kingdom, cell, human health and human reproduction; students may concentrate on these topics to enhance their results in the examination.

3. Chemistry strategy

Chemical bonding, molecular structure, block elements S and P, chemical kinetics, balance are some of the important topics that are highly asked during the entry test.

Thorough preparation for these topics can give an edge to the students.

4. Strategy to tackle Physics

The physics section could make or break the chance of several students, consisting of both concept-based and numerical questions.

The students had best spend their time equally on both rather than concentrate solely on numerics or theory.

Atomic physics, magnetism, semiconductors, current electricity and the structure of Newton laws are among the most important subjects from the section of physics.

5. General Strategy & Tips

The exam will play a crucial role by numerous reviews and analysis up to as many hours as possible. The analysis allows candidates not only to better recall facts and concepts but also to increase their confidence in the exam hall.

On the other hand, if several evaluations are not done, students will be nervous and potentially make dumb errors which would cost them a lot.

Resolving questions from past years along with mock-testing material will also allow students to recognise the key topics of the exam.

Students should not fail to take occasional breaks between their study time for leisure and physical activity.
