Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Bioinformatics India (“BioinfoT”, “we”, “us”), a community hub for bioinformatics professionals, researchers, and students in India, offering a Q&A forum, a jobs and internships board, and a talent directory. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms.

1. Accounts

You can register as a Student / Researcher / Scholar account or a Company account. You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. Company accounts are manually reviewed before they can post jobs — we may decline or revoke verification at our discretion, for example if the information provided appears inaccurate or the account is used to post fraudulent listings.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

2. Your content

You keep ownership of the questions, answers, profile information, and job listings you post. By posting content, you grant BioinfoT a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute it as part of operating the site (for example, showing your answer to other visitors, or including it in search results).

A first post from a new member is held for a brief manual review before it appears publicly; after that, your posts publish immediately, and you’re responsible for what you post.

3. Job postings and applications

Companies are solely responsible for the accuracy of their job listings. BioinfoT does not vet individual job postings for accuracy, does not guarantee that any listing will result in a hire, and is not a party to any employment relationship, offer, or agreement that results from a listing or application made through the site.

When you apply to a job, your resume and any cover note are shared with the company that posted it. It’s your responsibility to make sure your resume and profile are accurate before applying. Job posting is currently free; we may introduce paid options in the future, with advance notice.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post spam, off-topic advertising, or content unrelated to bioinformatics, computational biology, or the jobs/talent features.
  • Harass, impersonate, or misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation with an institution or company.
  • Post fraudulent, misleading, or non-existent job listings.
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract content or user data from the site other than through search engines indexing public pages.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or moderation, or interfere with the site’s normal operation.
  • Upload malware or content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property or legal rights.

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.

5. Intellectual property

The BioinfoT name, logo, and site design belong to us. User-generated content (questions, answers, profiles, job listings) belongs to the users who posted it, subject to the licence described in section 2.

6. Disclaimers

BioinfoT is provided “as is.” Answers posted by community members are not verified or endorsed by us and should not be treated as professional, medical, legal, or definitive scientific advice — use your own judgement and, where it matters, consult a qualified expert. We make no warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any job listing, application, or answer will produce a particular outcome.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BioinfoT and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including from reliance on content posted by other users or from any employment outcome connected to a listing or application made through the site.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
